Nictun 2K
This imaginary Modern Image layout presupposes that the US Army built a branch line during WWII in southern Hampshire.
Had it been built, the branch would have come off the Meon Valley Line towards Fareham just past Droxford to Southwick House, which was requisitioned by the War Department for the SHAEF HQ in WWII, located over Portsdown Hill, looking North from Portsmouth Naval Base.
It is set around the turn of the 21st century. Due to the influx of many Military establishments and personnel to the area, the village of Nictun prospered and turned into a small town so surviving the Dr Beeching cuts.
From the steam days after the War, the goods yard has gone and been replaced by car showroom and petrol station. Also, the old WWII military sidings were developed to house a loco and wagon maintenance specialist facility.
The track diagram was also re-laid to accommodate more movement of traffic into and out of the works..
